Meals on Wheeles Volunteer

Volunteering

If you enjoy spending time with older adults, we have a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities for you to consider.

Meals On Wheels Volunteers:
Meals On Wheels volunteer duties range from packing the meals at the site to delivering the meals to clients. Meals On Wheels drivers commit to about 1 to 1 ½ hours per week to deliver meals to homebound clients. This opportunity is also available to local companies through our Adopt-A-Route program.

Friendly Visitor Volunteers:
Friendly Visitor Volunteers provide socialization to homebound, isolated clients by visiting with them two times per month.

Ohio Senior Health Insurance & Information Program Volunteers:
OSHIIP volunteers provide information and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries via the telephone and/or in person visits. These volunteers are trained at the LCCoA by an OSHIIP trainer from the Ohio Department of Insurance.

Portable Provision
(Grocery Shopper) Provider Volunteers:
Grocery Shopper Volunteers assist homebound, isolated clients by grocery shopping for them two times per month.

A 30-cent per mile mileage reimbursement is available to all volunteers.
