The ADRC Information and Assistance Specialist serves as a resource for information on issues, programs, services and organizations related to individuals 60+ and over and individuals 18 and over with disabilities, English and Spanish speakers:
• Provides first contact with consumers through phone, email, or walk-ins.
• Provides information and referrals/assistance by establishing contact with the consumer, assessing the individual’s long and short-term needs, identifying resources to meet those needs, and providing a referral to identified resources.
• Screens individuals for public benefit programs and refer to Benefits Specialist as necessary
• Screens individuals for Long Term Care Options Counseling and refer to Options Counselor as necessary.
• Assures all client records are entered and maintained accurately our critical databases.
• Under supervision of ADRC manager, provide guidance to ADRC volunteers.
• Provide information at outreach events.
• Under the direction of the ADRC Manager, perform annual database audit.
• Print directories of information about resources for senior and disabled adults.
• Contact agencies as needed to request additional brochures, applications, etc.
• Attend and actively participate in agency and departmental meetings and training.
• Assist in providing durable medical equipment to those 60+ which may require lifting/carrying/moving up to 25 pounds:
• Remain current on developments in the aging and disability field, including timely completion of CEU requirements; and
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills: Associate’s degree in human services. Some relevant experience assisting senior and the disabled over 18 yrs. of age.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 per week
